Eric Kroes is Director of Significance. He holds an MSc in Civil Engineering (from the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds, UK) and has extensive experience in demand modelling projects and research in passenger and freight transport. He has worked in applied transport research for 30 years, first for NEA Transport research and training (1978-1985), then for Hague Consulting Group of which he was one of the founding partners (1985-2001), and subsequently for RAND Europe (2001-2006) where he was Director and leader of the Transport team. His main areas of interest are discrete choice modelling, stated preference research, public transport and aviation studies, project appraisal, policy monitoring and evaluation. He regularly acts as transport expert in audits and second opinion investigations. He is also Associate Professor Transport Economics at the VU University, Amsterdam.
